Band 6 - Service Manager in Private Healthcare - UCLH - London
University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) are searching for an experienced and passionate Band 6 Service Manager to join their Private Healthcare team.

We provide academically-led acute and specialist services, to people from the local area, from throughout the United Kingdom and overseas.
The Role:
The Service Manager reports to the Assistant General Manager and will have accountability for leading the administrative teams. The post-holder has the following responsibilities:
• Responsible for the day-to-day service management with a particular responsibility for managing and reporting on the ongoing care of patients in line with local targets and audit requirements.
• Leading the team in order to provide a high-quality administration service to all patients accessing the Department services, their carers, their consultants, and referring practitioners.
• Supporting the delivery of performance targets including activity, governance and workforce, and others as applicable.
• Managing and developing inpatient and outpatient pathways in order to ensure continuous improvement.
• Supporting in the management of service wide projects and initiatives as agreed with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager. The post holder will take the lead on additional specific projects. Particular areas of focus for such projects will include (but not be limited to) Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Mental Health, Violence and Aggression, service improvement initiatives, and our local service working groups.
• Working closely with the relevant Clinical Lead(s) and Senior Nurses to provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure services continue to improve and develop.
Requirements:
- Degree and/or an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous managerial experience in a large and complex organisation preferably within the NHS.
- Proven experience in service improvement and development.
- A proven record of success in managing change while also developing and maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively at directorate management team level.
- Proven track record of working under pressure to strict deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise effectively.
- The ability to both work co-operatively with both clinical and non-clinical staff including other management teams of the Trust and to develop effective working relationships within the directorate.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills with ability to motivate and engage individuals and teams.
- Quality focussed with an innovative approach and the ability to solve complex problems.
- A strong understanding of multi-disciplinary issues and commitment to multi-disciplinary working.
- Excellent IT skills.
- An understanding and experience of staff and organisational development.
