Band 6 - Specialist Podiatrist - Kingston - London

Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust are hiring a passionate and skilled Specialist Podiatrist to join their team.

Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust was established in 2024 to bring health and care services closer together for local people.

We provide community care in the London borough of Richmond, and we work in partnership with Your Healthcare who provide community care in Kingston. We also provide a full range of acute services at Kingston Hospital, and short-stay rehabilitation at Teddington Memorial Hospital.

We serve a wider population for a range of specialist services. This includes hospital and outpatient services for people in Elmbridge (Surrey), Merton, Wandsworth and Sutton, and community immunisations for most of south London.

Job Purpose:

The role of the Specialist Podiatrist is to apply evidence-based specialist knowledge and skills to the assessment, treatment and care planning of complex or chronic podiatric conditions; and provide skilled care for patients with diabetes and other long-term conditions, presenting with moderate to high-risk foot needs.  

The role requires the ability to work autonomously and effectively within the multidisciplinary team and seek support when necessary to ensure safe effective care. 

To determine clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated, and to maintain excellent clinical records.

The post holder will be responsible for a defined population of service users across the Trust including community clinics and domiciliary and hospitals setting.

Requirements:

  • Podiatry Diploma/Degree
  • Local Analgesia Certificate
  • Valid Registration with HCPC
  • Experience of working in both a team and in isolation.
  • Experience of managing a caseload of “at risk” patients.
  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including accurate record keeping.
  • Good organisational skills, to manage own caseload and the day-to-day running of the clinics in which you work.
  • Good clinical podiatry skills and understanding of infection control.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to change
